Single Session
Adjustment SessionADHD
ADHD Adjustment session for you, your partner, or your family
At first you may feel relieved that you can finally understand more about yourself; both as you look back to your childhood; but also in your adult life now. After the relief of being given a diagnosis, you may find yourself feeling angry, or sad, or both – having regrets that you weren’t diagnosed sooner. You may wonder what life would have been like if you had. All these are normal feelings to have and are very much like the bereavement process – because they are in many ways feelings about loss. The ‘if onlys’ and the “what ifs”.
Learning to understand yourself now becomes even more important as you begin to work out what can be considered part of your personality – that which makes you ‘you’ – and what can be attributed to your symptoms of ADHD.
This session is for:
- Talking through how you feel about your diagnosis in the context of your life journey
- Talking through symptoms
- An opportunity for partners or family members to understand more about ADHD
- Problem solving for family members to help improve communication and connection with someone you love with ADHD
